In Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, the interior of this corner house has undergone a major transformation. Images by Dik Nicolai.
On the ground floor and first floor, the entire interior has been renewed. The original layout of the floor plans was traditional with many enclosed, small rooms. The ground floor and first floor are now open spaces and connected by a void. The connection between the floors is emphasised by the wooden staircase that is part of the interior like a piece of furniture.
The void creates spaciousness and provides the interior with plenty of daylight. The interior takes on a playful character by combining the colourful kitchen with the wooden interior elements and some accent colours.
